We know PNCs (Philatelic Numismatic Covers) are highly sought after, and many collectors are eager to know what will be available at Sydney 2025. We could not announce anything earlier as we had to wait for final confirmation.

We have been in discussions with Australia Post (AP) since August 2024. Our initial request was for four different PNCs, with 200 to 250 copies of each. However, in November, AP approved only two PNCs with overprints, limited to just 100 copies each. Although we requested a higher quantity, this was the maximum allowed.

We have also spent two months waiting for AP to make available suitable designs for overprinting and numbering. However, one bonus is that each PNC will feature an official Sydney postmark dated 20 March 2025, the first day of the exhibition.

The two PNCs are:

The Remembrance PNC which has a $2 coin.

The King’s Birthday PNC which has a 50-cent coin.

How to Purchase

Due to the limited quantity, these PNCs will only be available for purchase at the exhibition. Each person can only purchase one.

• Location: Philatelic Association of NSW (Philas) stand (entrance foyer)
• Special Numbered PNCs: Numbers 1 and 100 of each PNC will be auctioned at the exhibition venue on Saturday, 22 March, at 3pm.

Payment methods: Cash or credit card (MasterCard/Visa).

• Remembrance PNC – $80
• King’s Birthday PNC – $70

Queueing Arrangements

We want to give as many PNC collectors as possible the opportunity to purchase one of these souvenirs. When the exhibition opens at 10am on Thursday, 20 March, those interested in purchasing the PNCs will need to queue at the PHILAS stand. Each person will be given a voucher for one of the following:

• The Remembrance PNC. This must be purchased at the Philas stand between 11am and 12 noon.
• The King’s Birthday PNC. This must be purchased at the Philas stand between 3pm and 4pm.

Once you have your voucher, you can relax and enjoy the exhibition until it’s time to return to the PHILAS stand for your designated purchase time.

Important: If a voucher holder does not make their purchase by the deadline (12 noon for Remembrance PNC, 4pm for King’s Birthday PNC), they will lose their right to buy the PNC.

Australian Philatelic Federation (APF) - Limited Edition Mini Sheets

The Australian Philatelic Federation will be selling a Limited Edition of 100 numbered and over-printed Australian Honours System Mini Sheets on their stand at the show for $15.00 each. Numbers 1 & 100 will be auctioned on Saturday afternoon along with two un-numbered. Auction details here
